About Me
Luciano Borges Pereira began his martial arts career in judo, where he built the discipline and competitive foundation that still defines his approach to sport. He later committed fully to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his black belt under Gracie Barra and establishing himself on the international competition circuit.
He competes in the Male / Master 4 / Black Belt / Ultra Heavy division and holds an internationally recognized position in the official IBJJF World Ranking system. In the 2025–2026 season he is ranked #20 in Ultra Heavy Gi and #14 in Ultra Heavy No-Gi, with #122 overall in Gi and #127 overall in No-Gi among all black belts in his division worldwide.
His record spans championships in the United States and Brazil, including gold medals at the Los Angeles Summer International Open IBJJF 2026 in both Gi and No-Gi, and competition at the sport's highest-level events — the IBJJF World Master Championship and the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship, both officially broadcast on FloGrappling.
He holds active IBJJF athlete registration (ID 298110), valid through June 2027, confirming his continuing eligibility to compete in IBJJF-sanctioned championships worldwide, and Gracie Barra Global ID 3909.
Luciano maintains ongoing education within the Gracie Barra system through the Ethics and Gracie Barra and GB Fundamentals programs, reinforcing his alignment with the organization's competitive standards and values.
His role is exclusively athletic. Luciano does not teach, coach, or provide instruction. His activity consists entirely of high-performance training, competition preparation, and international competition as a Gracie Barra professional athlete.
